Submit your Information Here! "The Corps Experience...It Lasts A Lifetime"
Howdy!
Welcome to our Corps of Cadets information page. We hope this information will help you in your decision to choose to become a member of one of the oldest established Corps of Cadets in the nation. The Corps at Texas A&M University is the largest military Corps of Cadets outside the three major military service academies. It is the largest Corps of Cadets of the six Senior Military Universities which includes: VMI, Citadel, Virginia Tech, Norwich, and North Georgia. At Texas A&M all four branches of the Armed Forces provide training during the first two years but no military obligation is required. A cadet may pursue a military commission to enter active duty in one of the branches of the Armed Forces after graduation.
The Corps is the “Keepers of the Spirit” and the founder of “Traditions” at Texas A&M. It teaches principles of leadership, develops responsibility, honor, and integrity; builds pride and self-confidence; instills physical stamina; and lays the foundation for intelligent and involved citizenship, culminating in the graduation of leaders possessing character and competence who are motivated for service and leadership in their community, the State of Texas, and the Nation.
The Corps is not for everyone. Not only will a cadet have to meet the demanding schedule of academic life, he/she must become a member of a team (their outfit) within the Corps and help it reach its goals. The Corps experience develops pride, loyalty, initiative, and a bonding between cadets that is unmatched anywhere. Their shared experiences, leadership opportunities, and excellent education give them a well-rounded education that will help them excel in business, civic, and/or military careers.
How do you know if the Corps lifestyle is for you? Ask yourself these questions. Are you a team player, like challenges, want do work with high achievers, disciplined, a goal setter, athletic, organized, and want to be a leader? If so, the Corps is right for you.
