Hollingsworth 1876 Society Members

The Texas Aggie Corps of Cadets Association is proud to have designated its highest level of giving in Lieutenant General James F. Hollingsworth's name.  The Hollingsworth 1876 Society is for members who have donated $25,000 or more.

Lieutenant General James F. Hollingsworth, Texas A&M College Class of 1940, served with distinction under General George Patton in World War II. Throughout the Vietnam era he never changed his radio call sign, “Danger79er.” He was revered by his troops and feared by the enemy as a warrior who was always on the scene in times of need or in times of immense peril. Hollingsworth is the only general in history to have been awarded the Distinguished Service Cross, the nation’s second highest award for valor, three times, and he was wounded in combat six times. A man of character, honor, and dignity, he gave a full measure of discipline to every aspect of his life.
